IMPHAL DIARIES: BALDY MAN: JOINING THE LEAGUE OF EXTRAORDINARY MEN......

This blog is dedicated to all my friends n seniors who are in same league ...or who are going to join the league of extraordinary men

Oh GOD......this mrng...when I looked at mirror n saw that I'm now in League of Extraordinary Men ...a sense of euphoria..as well a feeling that how I will look ...or to say how others will think about me....dawned upon me

n to make it more difficult my partner told me that I need not to go for hair transplant as I'm looking HOT enough...sic...!!????!!!!!!!

Historically in world of men, it's one of the most important topic once you cross 40

.....Vikings used a lotion of goose poo. The ancient Greek medic Hippocrates believed the best cure for baldness was really pigeon droppings, which he mixed with horseradish, cumin and nettles.

For as long as men have had access to mirrors, they’ve been fretting about their scalps getting lonely. It was a particular obsession of Julius Caesar, who tried everything to get his hair back; the wreath of laurels he wore was less a nod to Roman tradition than an attempt at covering up his shiny ...skull...

By the time he met Cleopatra, he was almost completely bald. In a last ditch attempt to save his scalp... she lovingly recommended a home remedy of ground-up mice, horse teeth and bear grease.

Unfortunately, it didn’t work. He lost his hair like many great men before and since, including Socrates, Napoleon, Aristotle, Gandhi, Darwin, Churchill, Shakespeare to SELF

Eventually Caesar began growing his hair longer at the back and combing these strands forwards across his head, a technique which was optimistically described as “illusion styling”. Now it’s known as the comb-over.

As you will understand bare heads aren’t a spectacular evolutionary accident after all. Bald men are seen as more intelligent, dominant and high status; their shiny scalps may help them to seduce women or even save lives.  .... hopefully...people say...!!!!!!

If you think about it, early human males would have been running around completely hairy and with twigs to cover them up....a big shaggy head of hair, a big bushy moustache – all kinds of body hair – they would have been very kind of threatening looks.....

So in evolutionary process when Baldy men entered into system it would have helped in  separating mature, high-status men from hostile adolescents.

The shaven look has been a hit with philosophers, teachers and priests for centuries.  Seers and monks have taken this one step further – not only shaving their heads, but doing so in a way which directly mimics
 the way men go bald....

So to say it's not a life threatening situation or something to hide....friends don't put caps or hats or wigs....let the shiny scalp ...become our strength...n as it is known if someone doesn't except bald smartness it's their losss....         three cheers to baldness

IMPHAL DIARIES

LAWNS a sign of aristrocracy
I used to think why so many people maintain lawns n now seeing in lutyens delhi the love of people for bungalow s n their fetish for lawns... but now seeing it in IMPHAL which is naturally so serene n beautiful ...I penned down following

‍Lawns are some of the most mundane things in the world until you really start thinking about them. That's when you realize that they make no sense. Why do people keep patches of perfectly manicured, uninteresting, pointless little plants outside their homes? They're not beautiful like flowers, they don't provide food and you have to mow them constantly.

In the Middle Ages, when French and English aristocrats started putting carefully cropped patches of grass at their castle entrances.

Well-kept lawns demanded land and a lot of work, particularly in the days before lawnmowers and automatic water sprinklers. So a job was created for poor people... by landlords...

Peasants could never afford wasting their time or land on lawns, so these artificial meadows were a perfect status symbol for nobility. They proclaimed,.....I am so rich and powerful, and I have so many acres and serfs, that I can afford this green extravaganza.

This status symbol ended up outlasting the monarchies that created it. Kings and dukes were toppled and killed, but new presidents and prime ministers kept the lawns.

Humans thereby came to identify lawns with political power, social status and economic wealth...

Rich entrepreneurs appeared on the world scene ... And they wanted lawns too.

In this century now middle classes have started being able to afford their own mini versions of wealthy manors: suburban houses. And guess what has became the ultimate suburban status symbol? A perfectly mowed lawn.

The popularity of lawns continued to grow, taking over public event spaces and sports. In the past, people played sports on all kinds of surfaces – dirt, ice, sand. But in the last couple centuries, they made the switch to green grass, or turf made to imitate green grass.

People like us may not realize it, but we also meticulously care for patches of grass because centuries ago, medieval French and English kings wanted to show off how many serfs they had ... by intentionally planting something useless. It's strange that people would continue to spend so much time and money on what's really a weird leftover from the Middle Ages. But that's history n reality

When we now come to plan your dream house, you might think twice about having a lawn in the front yard
You are free to shake off the cultural cargo bequeathed to you by European dukes, capitalist moguls and our netas – and imagine for yourself a  rock garden, or some altogether new creation...

IMPHAL DIARIES

It's so amazing that there is a place in our country which is so serene n seems it's somewhere from a time immemorial.  ...things like modernization n technology  ..n culture ...all r jostling for space together

My first observation is that It's a place wherein RICE is everywhere ...in food . habits..to ...to even names of shops..

The common thread amongst all tribes is.   Rice      consumed as the main food by all tribes of Manipur whereas meat, fish and seasonal vegetables are being the favorites.

.

People are really good ...but segregated in various tribes..n they take precedence over everything ...
Here approx 58% lives in valley and rest 42% at hills which  are inhabited mainly by the tribals ...
There are 33 recognised tribes which either fall under the Nagas or the Kukis, the two different conglomerates of Manipur tribals.
The two communities are differentiated mainly from their distinctive dialects, costumes, cultures and traditions. The Nagas have a history of headhunting and a strong warrior tradition whereas the Kukis are a sub-family of the Tibeto-Burman language group which is also related to Mizos of Mizoram and Chins in Myanmar.

The recognized tribes who made their home in Manipur for years now are Aimol, Anal, Chiru, Chothe, Gangte, Inpui, Hmar, Kharam, Khoibu, Koirao, Kom, Lamkang, Liangmai, Mao, Maram, Maring, Mate, Monsang, Moyon, Paite, Poumai, Purum, Ralte, Rongmei (Kabui), Simte, Suhte, Tangkhul, Tarao, Thadou, Thangal, Vaiphei, Zeme and Zou.

All the tribes generally communicate in their own dialects among the same ethnic groups while communication between different groups is carried out in Meitei or Manipuri language, the official language of Manipur

As I spend time it seems

I will rise in love with this place....

N people will not think me MAYANG

METRO DIARIES : LIFETIME RELATIONSHIPS WHICH CAN BE SEASONAL OR REASONABLE

‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍

This quote was once shared with me by a friend
“People come into our life for a reason, a season or a lifetime. When one figures out which one it is, one will know what to do for each person….”.

One does not meet people by accident – they come into our life for a reason.

Yes, even the irritating ones.

If a relationship doesn’t survive the test of time, it doesn’t mean it still wasn’t meant to be.

Not all encounters with people are supposed to last forever.

Sometimes the “forever” is not the person – but what we gain from them.

There’s a harmony and purpose for each person you meet....

Friendships and relationships, even workplace colleagues nearly always come to an end — as is the natural circle of life. The nature of life is constant change. And change can be a real bitch to say the very least. It can be totally devastating.
One can rest assured on this fact that it is almost certain — one poof and something happens (e.g redundancy, break up, death, car accident) and everything changes...

Comfort is only in putting something through a different lens to view in a different way.

When someone is in our life for a REASON, it is usually to meet a need one expressed. They have come to assist us through a difficulty; to provide us with guidance and support..
They seem like a godsend, and they are. Then, without any wrongdoing on our part…they r gone....

When some people come into our life for a SEASON, it is probably our turn has come to share, grow or learn. They bring us an experience of peace or make us laugh. They may teach us something one has never done.  Believe it. It is real.
But this is only for a short period of time....

LIFETIME relationships remains,
One has to build a solid emotional foundation. One's job is to accept the person , love & trust the person,
and put one has learned to use in all other relationships and areas of our life....

TYPES which I put my RELATIONSHIPS

FLYOVER

These people are not meant to last for the long road ahead. They are an enjoyable pathway to get us to where we need to go.

These people are needed to arrive exactly at the time and place you met them – to transport us to the next level of our life journey.

One meet these people for a reason – even if they are only here for a season.

JAM....MERS

These people come into your life to delay us – for both little things and big things.

For example,
one might have a conversation with someone – which then delays  and prevents you from getting into accident.

Sometimes rejection is a redirection to something better....
Well, that’s what these people do. They might show up as a rejector – but they are a redirector.

GURU

Often our tormentors double duty as as mentors.

They are here to teach us important life lessons – via the process of pain – which helps us to grow ...

Some people are just straight-up inspiring teachers – who teach us life lessons in a more loving manner.

Devdoot

These people are here to protect us and remind us to stay safe and stay self loving.

They are “guardian angels” of some sort.

Their purpose: Make sure that one does not stray too far from the path one is meant to be on.

In times of need and desperation they help us – when others are not there for

CLAN

These are the ones who are here to stay the long haul.

These people are far and few between – but they are the ones who are loyally there for you during tough times and celebratory times.

They see one clearly and accept one as he/she with flaws

Clan members support  when one is invisible to others.

Clan members root for one with a pure heart – when others might feel competitive or jealous.

Anamika

They represent and symbolize something one desires...
They r dreams... They come... Let us fulfill a dream N vanish
As if they were never there
